www.csem.com offers safety training classes for MSHA Part 48 Initial Surface Course. These courses meet all MSHA Federal requirements for anyone mandated to complete the MSHA Part 48 Site-Specific training. This safety training class includes certification for surface coal, metal, non-metal and aggregate mines. Upon completion of the course, students will receive an MSHA Form 5000-23 certifying that they have completed 24 hours of training for surface mines.
Those working in the mining industry;
Those with mining experience in other countries who wish to be certified to work in mines in the US
Those with US mining experience but who have not previously met MSHA Part 48 training requirements to include:
office or staff employees;
scientific workers;
delivery workers;
customers, including commercial over-the-road truck drivers;
construction workers who are not exposed to mine hazards;
vendors or visitors;
maintenance or service workers who are not at a mine for frequent or extended periods;
maintenance or service workers who are working on non-mining equipment;
or miners (such as drillers or blasters) who move from one mine to another while remaining employed by the same independent contractor.
