This general industry course covers electrical, hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and other forms of energy to include chemical, biological and radiological. Uncontrolled these energies may pose a dangerous condition which is prohibited in the work place by OSHA. Unexpected startups or the release of hazardous energy may cause death and serious injury.
OSHA’s 29 CFR 1910.147 Control of Hazardous Energy Standard is often times referred to by the industry as lock-out tag-out safety training courses. All authorized employees who service or maintain equipment, as well as equipment operators and any other affected employees who work in the area where lock-out tag-out try-out is being performed (not including persons in the construction, agriculture and maritime employment) are required to take this training to meet OSHA compliance requirements.
