These cover all the regulations passed through different Acts in the Cabinet. The Department of Labor is responsible for programming, implementation, monitoring and penalization for non-compliance of corporations or industries within the stipulations of law. Industries that are involved in construction, mining, manufacturing or transportation are required to train their employees so that their operations can pass through the OSHA, MSHA and DOT compliance audits; and also enroll their employees in a course refresher after a certain time period has elapsed.
Many courses offered at the Center for Safety and Environmental Management, Inc. are designed to be a course refresher for OSHA, MSHA and DOT regulations. The OSHA is the Office of Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the MSHA is the Office of Mining Safety and Health Administration and DOT stands for Department of Transportation (for the United States government). Under OSHA regulations, the refresher courses offered at the Center for Safety and Environmental Management, Inc. include the 8-hour HAZWOPER Course Refresher, the 8-Hour Incident Commander Refresher (this can be either a table top or field exercise, as preferred by organizations), the 8-Hour Incident Commander Refresher (this is a back to the factory course that can be customized to include any six topics that are relevant to the class), and the Crane Safety and Operator Course Refresher.
Under MSHA regulations, the Center for Safety and Environmental Management, Inc. offers two refresher courses – one 8-Hour Part 46 Course Refresher and an 8-Hour Part 48 Course Refresher. These are based around sections of Federal law on mining companies and mining standard operating procedures. Under the Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, the DOT Outline General Awareness / Course Refresher offered at the Center for Safety and Environmental Management, Inc. serves as both an introductory course on Federal regulations found in Title 49 of the Code of Federal Regulations (49 CFR) Part 172.702 and also as a course refresher. This DOT training course refresher includes definitions, fines and penalties associated with DOT non-compliance, the historical development of these regulations and a review of applicable standards of OSHA, DOT and EPA that apply. This range of course refresher enable organizations to re-employ past employees who had previously taken a long period’s worth of leave, within compliance to labor and procedural / operational laws put in place by the OSHA, MSHA and DOT.
