Goals of the Course

The program serves as a learning tool for understanding non-metals, their diverse properties and their use in manufacturing various products.

Audience Specified

The training applies to every OSHA employee, who intends to address emergencies disturbing the
sustained operations of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration office. This includes
employees handling hazardous waste material.

Learning Outcome:

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  • Identify major nonmetal materials and the areas of their frequent use;
  • Describe characteristics, properties and classifications of all these materials;
  • Differentiate between synthetic and natural materials;
  • Define industrial chemicals;
  • Examine different paints and coatings, their proper preparation, use and application;
  • Learn precautions pertaining to chemical safety; and
  • Explain appropriate use of protective equipment.

Quiz and Exam Information

Module Quiz

Quiz will be held at the end of each module to comprehend the knowledge of students about that
module and its relevant aspects. It is mandatory to pass all quizzes to be able to take final
examination.

Examinable Features

  • Students will be allowed to appear in the final examination after they complete all modules and pass respective quizzes
  • A minimum of 70% marks are required to get accreditation.
  • If a student fails in the first attempt, two more attempts will be provided to that student.
  • There will be a break of 48 hours within each attempt, respectively

Completion time

Students are expected to complete all modules and pass final exam within 6 months of the initial registration
to receive course credits. A re-registration with complete course fee will be required after the expiration of this time period.
