OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) standard deals with “any activity involving a highly hazardous chemical including any use, storage, manufacturing, handling, or the on-site movement of such chemicals, or combination of these activities.” Consequently, storage of hazardous materials come under PSM standard.
For facilities that store very dangerous chemicals, PSM is crucial. By implementing the necessary safety protocols, you may help avoid serious occurrences like fires, explosions, big chemical spills, poisonous gas releases, uncontrolled chemical reactions, and more.
Keeping things in storage shouldn’t put workers in danger. The goal of this training program is to make workers aware of the improper or unsafe storage practices and train them to recognize the ways to eliminate—or at least minimize—the occurrence chances of such accidents.
training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.120(e)(3)(i) defined by Federal OSHA HAZWOPER for general industry.
training requirements of 29 CFR 1926.65(e)(3)(i) defined by Federal OSHA HAZWOPER for construction sector.
HAZWOPER training requirements for EPA and State OSHA guidelines.
All workers, supervisors and contractors who are exposed to hazardous chemical materials for the purpose of storing them particularly or handling them generally should attend this training program.
At the completion of this course, students will be able to:
Introduction
General Hazards
OSHA Regulations
Recognizing Hazards
Protective Techniques
Flammable and Combustible Liquids (1910.106)
Liquefied Hydrogen (1910.103)
Bulk Oxygen (1910.104)
Safety Measures
Quiz will be held at the end of each module to comprehend the knowledge of students about that
module and its relevant aspects. It is mandatory to pass all quizzes to be able to take final
examination.
