Using hand tools improperly can result in life-threatening injuries. It is possible that you could lose a finger or an eye. The most dangerous thing you can do with a hand tool is either overuse it or fail to keep it in excellent condition. This applies to everything from a screwdriver to an axe. Injuries that are classified as “ergonomic” can also be caused by hand tools. These are the injuries that affect nerves, tendons, muscles, and joints of the body. In addition to tendinitis and carpal tunnel syndrome, they include sprains and strains that can occur in many regions of the body. Injuries caused by improper ergonomics might manifest themselves immediately or develop over time. It is, therefore, vital to train workers using hand tools to be able to choose right tool for the right job.
