Under the promulgated regulation [29 CFR 1910.95(i)(1)], OSHA requires that:
“Employers shall make hearing protectors available to all employees exposed to an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels or greater at no cost to the employees. Hearing protectors shall be replaced as necessary.”
Programs for hearing conservation that are suitable and effective in the workplace increase worker productivity and reduce absenteeism.
The goal of this course is to train students in methods effective to regulate worker exposure to excessive noise and employment of quieter machines, segregating the noise source and restraining worker exposure as well as utilization of effective protective equipment to prevent hearing loss.

The intentional audience for this course is all those people who are working or maintaining
operation on site. These personnel include
a) Treatment, storage and disposal personnel;
b) Hazardous waste cleanup personnel;
c) Emergency responders (HAZMAT personnel).
At the completion of this course, students will be able to learn:
