The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) published first Excavation and Trenching Standard, 1926 Subpart P in 1971 to safeguard workers from the hazards of excavation.
This course focuses on the regulations outlined in the revised OSHA’s standard for excavation and trenching operations. It also explains safe work practices for employees and outlines techniques for protecting employees against cave-ins.
This training serves to address the requirements of the OSHA’s Excavation and Trenching Standard and includes knowledge that can assist personnel connected with trenching and digging in recognizing hazardous conditions, taking protective measures, and following best practices. The course also contains a discussion on the composition of soil as well as an outline of the numerous characteristics that are linked with the various categories of soil.
