Hazwoper stands for “hazardous waste and emergency response operations”. 8-hour Hazwoper
course is a refresher course in occupational safety and health administration (OSHA) domain. It is
designed for the workers, who deal with hazardous or potentially hazardous materials at waste
management or other relevant work sites. This course serves as an adequate training program to
be taken annually by industrial employees.

Goals of the Course

This program intends to provide competent workers for the industry trained in hazard recognition
and hazard assessment. It will help workers, involved in clean-up operations, in site
characterization. It will also serve as a basis for future site-supervisors at waste management sites.

Audience Specified

The course is planned for workers who face health hazard, are vulnerable to any form of hazardous
material or responsible for removing hazardous waste as a part of their job. This course assists in
acquiring education training for workers completing compulsory OSHA 24 or 40 Hour course.

Quiz and Exam Information

Module Quiz

Quizzes are an absolute way of assessing knowledge and comprehension of students. Students will
be expected to take quiz after each module. The quiz will be comprised of critical questions from
the respective modules

Examinable Features

A final exam will be taken at the end of this course

  • Students will be allowed to appear in final exams after they complete all modules and pass module quizzes;
  • A minimum of 70% score will be required to pass the examination;
  • Certificate of completion will be awarded to successful candidates;
  • A total of 3 attempts will be given to students to pass final examination;
  • Students can retake final exam after every 48 hours, respectively;
  • Every year after the completion of Hazwoper 40, an 8-Hour Hazwoper Refresher must be taken annually to keep Hazwoper certification active.

Completion time

In order to receive certification, a student must complete
8-hour Hazwoper Refresher within 6 months after enrollment. After
that time period, the student account will expire and a new subscription will be required.
